Production and Uses of PVC-coated Welded Wire Mesh

Apr. 24, 2026

I. Production Process of PVC-Coated Welded Wire Mesh

1. Welding Forming: Using an automated welding machine, metal wires (commonly low-carbon steel wire or stainless steel wire) are welded longitudinally and transversely according to the set mesh size to form a mesh sheet or roll. The welds are strong and free of defects.

2. Pre-treatment: The welded mesh sheets are degreased, derusted, and phosphated to remove surface impurities and oxide layers, improving the adhesion of the PVC coating.

3. PVC Coating Processing: The treated mesh sheets are immersed in molten polyethylene (PE) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic liquid, or an electrostatic spray coating process is used to evenly cover the surface of the mesh sheet with a plastic layer. Powder coating can also be used as required, making the coating thickness easier to control.

4. Curing and Cooling: The PVC-coated mesh sheets are sent to a curing oven and baked at a set temperature to cure, ensuring a tight bond between the plastic layer and the metal mesh. After cooling, they are cut, edge-rolled, or processed into finished product specifications.

II. Core Applications of PVC-Coated Welded Wire Mesh

The PVC coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, rust prevention, and weather resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

1. Construction Industry

◦ Wall insulation mesh to prevent wall cracking and peeling; reinforcing mesh during underfloor heating installation to enhance ground load-bearing capacity.

◦ Construction site edge protection mesh, post-construction strip isolation mesh, and safety protection mesh for high-rise exterior scaffolding.

2. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Industry

◦ Making cages for chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep, and other livestock; anti-theft fences for orchards and vegetable gardens, effectively preventing bird and animal attacks.

◦ Building climbing supports for cucumbers, beans, and other vines to support crop growth.

3. Municipal and Landscaping Industry

◦ Roadside greenbelt isolation mesh, park lawn fences, and residential community wall protection mesh, serving both protective and decorative purposes.

◦ Tree pit fencing and flower bed isolation mesh, beautifying the landscape while protecting vegetation.

4. Industrial Warehousing

◦ Workshop area partition netting and shelf safety netting to delineate work areas and prevent goods from tipping over.

◦ Warehouse partition netting and equipment safety netting to protect equipment and personnel.
