What are the surface treatment methods for barbecue grills?

After the processing and production of the barbecue net is completed, it is generally necessary to carry out surface treatment to make the product beautiful, rust-proof and corrosion-resistant. Generally speaking, there are two ways to treat the surface of the barbecue net, electrogalvanizing and polishing. The following will introduce these two processes:

1. Electrogalvanizing is cold plating, which is the application of electroplating to galvanize the surface of the barbecue net. The process mainly immerses the barbecue net and the zinc block in the electrolyte at the same time, and passes the positive and negative poles of direct current respectively. The finished product has a uniform coating. The surface of the barbecue net galvanized in the acid electrolyte is brighter, and the surface of the barbecue net galvanized in the alkaline electrolyte is whiter, but there is no difference in quality between the two. This process is mainly used for the surface treatment of low-carbon steel wire (iron wire) barbecue nets.

2. For stainless steel barbecue net products, the commonly used surface treatment method is polishing. There are three polishing methods: mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, and electrochemical polishing. These three methods have their own advantages and disadvantages.

(1) Mechanical polishing

High brightness. Its disadvantages are high labor intensity, serious pollution, and inconsistent gloss, short gloss retention time, dullness and rust. Wire mesh deep processing products are more suitable for processing simple parts, medium and small products.

(2) Chemical polishing

The advantages of this kind of wire mesh deep processing products are low investment in processing equipment, polishing, fast speed, high efficiency and good corrosion resistance. Its disadvantages are poor brightness, gas overflow, ventilation equipment is required, and heating is difficult. This kind of wire mesh deep processing product is suitable for processing small batches of complex parts and small parts with low brightness requirements.

(3) Electrochemical polishing

The advantages of this kind of wire mesh deep processing product are long-lasting mirror gloss, stable process, less pollution, low cost and good corrosion resistance. Its disadvantages are high pollution resistance, large one-time investment in processing equipment, complex parts require tooling and auxiliary electrodes, and mass production also requires cooling facilities. Suitable for mass production, this kind of wire mesh deep processing product is mainly used in high-end products, export products, and tolerance products. Its processing technology is stable and easy to operate.
